Keygens dont work for nero 8. There is activation that hasnt been cracked yet (AFAIK).

So dont even bother.

In windows explorer, go to:
C:\program files\common files\nero\shared\NL3
then look for the file"NeroPatentActivation.exe"
and DELETE It. that should take care of nero calling home about pirated license.

Use old keygen

I used the ultra edition serial only, thought it worked but nero was only running until the trial expired.

So obtain serial number for each item in the keygens drop down menu.

Enter in nero controlcentre, should have 7 serials in total

....and voila!

You just need to enter the serial number
just once...either during installation or afterwards....Just remember to remove the "DEMO"
license.You forgot to remove yours...thats why your version always came up as trial instead of
nero 8.

Go to windows explorer:
C:\program files\commom files\nero\shared\NL3
Look for the file:
"NeroPatentActivation.exe" Delete it,
That should take care of your problem....:)

In nero 8 all you need to do is enter your serial number once during setup. If you didnot
get the chance to during set up go to " languages,license,update, ETC...go to license and click on entering new serial...enter your new serial..." ADD " done !!!Now go back to your serial and remove your " DEMO " license.
DONE !!! you should now be able to see your expiration date as " none " You now have Nero 8
Ultra Edition " however you won't be able to see it that way. You will always see it as nero 8. Now that you have nero 8 installed and you have rebooted....Go to windows explorer........
C:\program files\common files\nero\shared\NL3
Look for " NeroPatentActivation.exe " Delete It !!Now Nero won't call home and say that you have an Illegal copy or license. and this will also allow you to go to nero website and update
and nero will see you as a registered end user.
But don't try to register your program because they will ask you to type in your license and when you do that they will blacklist your license number right there and then.

Also, once you've installed your copy of nero and entered your license number,you don't have to worry about entering all the license numbers for all of your plugins as they are already working once you enter your main serial number for the program. I'm sure that this info will help all of you out there.......

I am not sure what you are really asking when you say you can't open "the movie file". Which OS are you running.........What Ver. of nero are you using & if it is nero 8 is it still in trial mode ? and if it is ver. 8, is it 8.1.1.4 or is it nero 8 in trial mode still? or is it Nero 8 Ultra Edition and if you think it's Ultra Edition Please tell me how & why you think it is. I'm not trying to give you a hard time with all the questions but there are several versions of Nero 8 on the web right now, for an example you could have downloaded nero from file hippo,zd net,softpedia etc...
and could have downloaded "The adware" Version
and yes it is nero 8 but it is more like nero lite.Post again with more INFO and I will try to help,if it is possible.

I'm using win xp sp2 & install Nero Ultra Edition 8.2.8.0 by the step, deleted file "NeroPatentActivation.exe" , when I open movie file (.DAT , dvd file, etc.) nero still show the pop up of NeroPatentActivation , plss tell me to solve this problem, thxxx so much

yes you are right,about getting the error about
NeroPatentActivation , I wasn't even aware of the problem until I tried to duplicate the problems that you are having.I have a couple of Idea's worth me trying to find a work-around.
I may get lucky or not, as this is code that is generated online....Just as it says. I know that you can still watch your movies by just canceling the pop-up or clicking on the X on the popup window.The rest of the program should work fine........but I personally haven't tried to use every feature in the program.
As far as the patentactivationfax.... that is in place in the event that if you weren't able to go Online,They have a fax form for you to be able to print out and fax YOUR LEGIT serial number to them to enable you to Activate your program.

You still need to remove your DEMO serial number
as long as that serial is in place,your program
is only in the trial mode..... IT WILL EXPIRE on you,and you will only have limited features available to use.

I'm not making any promises but if I do find a work around, I will post it.

I can't beleive this, I have tried to post 4 different times only to have the website say I didn't enter the right security code.
I got my PC working right by editing the registry. I used RegCrawler 4.5 You can download it at www.4dev.com It is shareware 30 days. You can GooGle it and will find many sites with the serial number.If you use it be very care as you are working in your systems registry.I am going to try to post again explaining how to use that program, providing that this website will allow me to.

Using RegCrawler 4.5 Type in "NeroPatentActivation" click GO.........
It should come up with 4 entries that are highlighted.click on one of the highlighted keys.It should have opened up another window with the values of each key on the right side of the new window. GO to Edit...GO to Find.
enter :NeroPatentActivation...Click Find next...
In the right side of the window you should see the value of that key highlighted....RightClick
DELETE....Close that window by clicking on the X on the right top corner. Follow suit with the rest of the entries the same way.After you have
deleted the 4 entries...Reboot your PC.
After rebooting check to see if that took care of your problem.BE SURE to only DELETE the values in the 2nd results window.IN OTHER WORDS
DO NOT DELETE THE KEYS IN THE 1st SEARCH WINDOW.

IF that didn't take care of your problem,
post again..........With your results

Am having the same problem. During installation if i leave "Demo" in serial entry field, i get an error, saying its invalid. So i put in a key using embrace keygen, tried many for nero 8, still no luck.

Third party patent activation always pops up.

And this whole idea of deleting "NeroPatentActivation" does not work!

Using a program which requires a plug-in to be used, ie third party, brings up the "Third party patent activation" dialog.

The file "NeroPatentActivation" is excuted when you click "Download" button on the "third party patent activation" dialog.

Ive tried all serials even site licenses but to no avail.

In the "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Nero\Shared\NL3" folder there is a file "patentactivationfax"

If you open it theres a box for you to specify a nero serial number so an activation code can be generated by ahead, meaning there is a way to input one somewhere.

Now all we need is someone who can generate these :-S

sTORMZ please stop perpatrating this nonsense. Deletinf neropatentactivation.exe does nothing, zilch, nought. It especially does not deal with the activation issue. You can still Nero burning Rom but you cannot use Recode or Showtime(for some files). Anach is correct Nero Patent Activation has not been cracked successfully. IMO you are better off with Nero 7 with which you can use everything Recode included.

I downloaded this keygen that Panarchy put up and when you open the keygen.exe it says "This application has failed to start because MSVCP71.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem." I hope someone can help me, thanks.

Same to me! But after one day of seeking on internet, I downloaded the MSVCP71.DLL and MSVCR71.DLL files (from http://www.portablefreeware.com/resources.php), put them into the same directory of Panarchy keygen, and the problem has been resolved! :-)

Panarchy! I tried this on 2 computers. On my laptop I'm getting a popup Trial Expired when trying to convert files under Nero Recode. It says the DVD Multichannel Plugin 30 Day Trial has expired and it gives me a link to buy. Entering the Standard or the Site License of that feature from the keygen do not fix this issue. It comes up no matter what. I've tried entering all serials on all plugins....Standard and Site License. On my desktop I'm still getting the Patent Activation Pop up. No matter what serials I put in....and by the way....when I put in serials for Nero Ultra Edition USA, it only shows up in Contol Center as Nero 8....while Nero Ultra Edition HD actually shows up in there as Nero Ultra Edition HD. Regardless, none of any of them are solving my patent activation issues. Any advise?

Man, I can't beleive how frustrating this is getting. I'm still in the same shape as my above mentioned Comment. Even when I use the Clean option from Embrace's Keygen and place your keys in I'm getting either Patent Activation Required or Trial Expired. I'm getting these when trying to use Nero Recode. Some of the keys will give me Patent Activation Required, but others tell me my Mpeg-2 and Mpeg-4 30 Day Trials have expired. Then it says I need to purchase DVD Multichannel Plug-In. DVD Multichannel Plug-In Keys are not resolving this. Standard nor Site License. Am I installing incorrectly? I'm going to unintstall, remove all program files and reg keys. Would you give me a complete breakdown from install to finish. Particularly the stage where it asks you for your first serial. From what I've seen it has DEMO placed in this area by default. What I tried, to no avail, was placing one of your Nero 8 Ultra Edition codes into this area and finishing install this way. Thanks for all your help Panarchy!

You should reinstall the application and try to follow the correct instruction or else you'll get error with the activation.

dudes, my copy of nero has the keygen from embrace. did a full install and used the keygen. there is a field in the smartstart that allows u to fill in all the other serials for such as 3rd party activation. all serials can be provided with embrace's keygen. go on and fill in all those serials. when a use nero for a while then u'll get those annoying activation messages. here i used the post provided by stormz to delete the .exe

then i went and took stormz advice further and removed all the entries in the registry pointing to the NeroPatentActivation entries.
this can be done with regedit.
Using Regedit Type in "NeroPatentActivation" click GO.........
