trial reset 1.5 won't work because norton detect the file that resets it as a virus .

jehanseedin, I've not used Norton recently but couldn't you add the trial reset 1.5 file name to your Norton, as an Exception, thus will work then ?

I didn't have a problem with norton finding the copy of 1.5v as a virus, it scans clean with norton and Eset but I can't convert the 15 days to 90 so I keep getting the 15 day popup everytime I open the main program. So far though the crack seems to be holding the 15 days but I've only had it on just 1 or 2 days but it still shows 15 so so far it's working. Anyone able to get it to convert(option B) on this newer version because I think that's the problem? I tried with self defense off and safe mode both didn't work.

The Trail re setter 1.5 does not work because norton updated it's engine from 16.2.0.7 to 16.5.0.135 , Norton blocks the re setter file even if the tamper protection is off ,it detects that file as a virus not the trail re setter ,but Trail re setter 1.5 worked perfectly on Norton antivirus & internet security . 16.2.0.7

Yes with the old version the trial re setter was working ok, the new version 1.5 won't do much at least on my computer. The Norton AV was stuck on activation so is no way to get to the setting to change something so I uninstall it. I found a new AV called Vipre with a 15 days trial. So far so good it's working. We wait for a new try on Norton.

Used Revo Uninstaller, an excellent and free program and RegCure.
After doing all as described above, rebooted and installed the OEM.
Norton does require the seting up of an account which lists my previous installation, however, this has not caused a problem.
The program is still working and counting down.

Left out one other step, to recap:
Uninstall using Revo Uninstaller.
Run Norton Removal Tool

Manually and CAREFULLY used Regedit to remove anything under Norton or Symantec (of course, do not use any of their other products)
Then RegCure
Reboot
Installed OEM
Reboot

Will stay with this for awhile and monitor how future fixes (Trial Rest2.0?) work and hold up.

Norton now recognizes TrialReset 1.0 and 1.5 as
"HackTool.NLHack"(Low Threat), removes them accordingly.
They can be restored and placed in future ignore list.
It does NOT yet recognize V. 2.0

The Norton 2008 EDGE keygen came at at the very end of july 2008. So if there's be a Norton Norton 2009 keygen it may take a few more months. And the NortonResetters keep coming cause they're not as good as a keygen or other crack.

Quite easy to get round this using reset v1.5
Turn tamper protection off permanently
Disable norton antivirus for 15 minutes, run trial reset then turn antivirus back on
With norton tamper protection kept on it will not reset when you restart so if you keep it off it will
Go into services and stop norton service, then start the reset service, it will say failed, then restart norton service to try it

If you want to get rid of that annoying activation screen just go to
C:\Program Files\Norton Internet Security\MUI\16.5.0.135\09\01
and cut the loc file (cltui) and place it in a different location, do not delete it because you will need to put this file back if you ever need to activate

I had installed NIS 2009, 90 Days OEM; it showed black listed and then applied Trial Rest v2.6. After initialization of NIS, I had uninstalled trial reset immediately. Interestingly, NIS 2009 is running with 90 days of subscription intact till fourth day today.

You don't need the cracks. When you're down to 1 day in the trial period just uninstall the program adn then delete any trace of Norton and Symantec in the registry then reinstall the program and you'll have your full 7 days back. I've done this 3x already.

After expiry of 90 Days of NIS 2009 OEM 90 days, just run NTR v2.6, (as I have experimented by it) get the renewed 90 days again and so on. Un-install NTR immediately one it re-activated NIS 2009.

One thing I forget to mention. Better apply the above in the 89th day. If NIS 2009 (90 Days) actually got black listed then go the safe mode, apply the NTR v2.6, unistall it, return to normal windows. it will ask to fix some problems. Run the 'FIX' button. NIS 2009 will be re-activated again with 90 days validity.

Best result I have achieved from Norton Trial Reset v2.6. First you have to install NIS2009 90 days. If it is showed expired, then go to safe mode, apply NTR v2.6, un-install NTR immediately. Then return to normal windows. Open NIS2009, run the red colored fix button, NIS 2009 will be activated with 90 days of validity. Run live up-date. Let the validity days reduced to say 88th day or 89th day, and then apply NTR v2.6 again. Uninstall NTR as before. You will again get another 90 days validity of NIS. The point is that if Symantec does not find any trial rest components in your PC they won't deactivate NIS. You can repeat the above procedure as many times as you want another 90 days of validity. Better you put the Norton Product Temper protection in to OFF mode to apply the NTR in normal Windows mode for subsequent re-activations.
