"Symantec on Monday released a free beta of its integrated security suite that for the first time includes a full-featured anti-spyware component, a move by the Cupertino, Calif.-based company to fend off both its long-time rivals in the security space as well as smaller firms that specialize in spyware defenses.
Norton Internet Security 2005 Anti-Spyware Edition is, as the name implies, a version of Symantec's all-in-one consumer and small business security suite"

So it's free, but is beta!!!!

You thought NIS 2005 was a system hog this is worse. If you have a new system you will see a little bit of slow down on startup. Older systems should stay clear of this for a while.

BTW, i like norton apps since 2002 and they get better every year, but dont install this if you already have yourt own NIS or NAV or it will totally fook it up and you will get the same probs as the part im going to paste bellow from another site, i got the same probs as him and trial was to run out 19th april, the same day i installed it not june like it said at install.

I had to remove all my own norton apps just to fix this and i will have to resintall them again when this dies which looks like yesterday lol.

"If you have any version of NAV or NIS installed, installing this will trash your system.

I installed this beta on Sunday, but was told that my updates exired on Monday? And if that wasn't bad enough, it overwote 2003 NIS and 2003 NAV without prompting me.

I then uninstalled all. Went to the affected directories in safe mode and deleted all. Then reinstalld NIS and NAV. Then I couldn't access the Internet unless I disabled NIS?

So, a clean install is in my near future"

Poor peep :-)
