That's a load of bullshit.
Opera is unique for it's futures, adblocking and customization.
Firefox is just an over-hyped alternative and actually not that good.

Use Opera for 1 month and I garantee you'll never want anything else again.

firefox is also open source and the extension are better firefox is
faster, more secure, more reliable and has many great shortcuts and nifty little tricks

firefox is very customizable and i love my theme opera has very crappy widgets and themes the wand tool is not as good as ff password saver

firefox has shift enter and ctrl shift enter until opera does i dont like opera as much it is number 5 in browsers i have tried
2 and 3 are tied

i wouldnt know because im not a firefox user, but...
firefox might be better in ways now, but it owes a LOT to browsers before it, does it not? Opera shares many of the "revolutionary" features hailed by firefox fans (sure maybe not the extensions as much, but many of these are built into opera such as the zoom feature) but Opera has been around much longer.
I believe the only reason Opera didnt gain a lot of support and thus contributers (financial or coding) early on was the fact that its free version had strings attached in the form of ads (even though users of this site know that wasn't hard to take care of).
So all of a sudden, firefox appears, and finally after years of ignoring other good browsers out there, a surge of internet explorer users wise up and switch...and now talk shit about Opera
