Opera 9.20 Build 8769
Posted by Anonymous 996 Day ago, There are 20 comments, 7762 views
The most full-featured Internet power tool on the market, Opera includes pop-up blocking, tabbed browsing, integrated searches, and advanced functions like Opera's groundbreaking E-mail program, RSS Newsfeeds and IRC chat. And because we know that our users have different needs, you can customize the look and content of your Opera browser with a few clicks of the mouse.
Changes in Opera 9.20 Build 8769:
- Added support for automatic search from address bar when entering more than one word;
- Some speed optimizations in the Speed Dial skin;
- Added support for the optional “key” in BitTorrent requests, should make more torrent downloads work;

Hugh2000...Mozilla Firefox version 2.0.03 is very good.

Can anyone who's used firefox before tried Opera 9.20 build 8767 and comment on it please? Is it much better?

im an opera fan. i used to use firefox but now opera is the only browser i use. i think it uses a bit more memory than firefox but it has heaps more features built in, ie you dont have to spend half and hour looking for a plug-in like you do with firefox.
for me opera is 9/10 mainly for ease of use.

"The most full-featured Internet power tool on the market,"

well that is inaccurate.

It is the most full featured browser fool, its called that because it has the features built into the download file that is smaller than firefox, aka it has all the plugins i need already available in a smaller file...i dont need some stupid plugin some guy created, anything firefox plugins can do there is a better alternative program that does it... i dont use a browser for novelty value.

anyone who uses firefox but has never used opera jumped on the "IE sucks" bandwagon a little too late...because if you really craved some of the features you love now, they were available on opera a long time ago.
Re: Opera 9.20 Build 8767 by glogle on 2007-04-05 00:53:44
i would almost rather have opera stay under the radar though, because the more users, the more attacks that are made for it....IE has the most users so it has the most vulnerabilities (plus it just sucks), firefox has enough users now that its starting to be attacked...but opera stays secure...its all i use and the ad blocker works fine, havent had one popup i didnt want and havent had one blocked that i wanted...and i havent needed a spyware or antivirus program in a very long time....system runs clean

This is true,but is not whole true.Next time check this folder for errors.The trojans and spy are hidden there.
C:\Documents and Settings\AnyUserl\Application Data\Opera\Opera\profile\cache4
I use firefox and Opera simultaneously,and my decision is:
Opera is the best.Firefox is good, but not good enough.

Above comments are true!

Opera is absolutely the best browser ever made. I used Netscape, IE, Firefox and Avant before, but since I use Opera things are a lot more easier.

Has all the features I need built-in. Good adblocker, can block everything even intellitext. Fast, small size, and now version 9.2 is coming up - that will be the best Opera release ever, period.

Listen to what glogle says:

"anyone who uses firefox but has never used opera jumped on the "IE sucks" bandwagon a little too late...because if you really craved some of the features you love now, they were available on opera a long time ago."

I agree 100%.

Yep, another Opera fan here, it's the dogs danglies. Was a FF user until last october, it hogged too much memory for my likings and took too long to load up - still way better than IE though. Had to give Opera a try and I have never looked back..

My firefox was updated to 2.0.0.3 and now it's worthless. It hangs and freezes after it was called a security update. There are alot of other people experiencing the same proble, but my 1.5.0.11 is working perfectly especially on ebay and it's never been updated because I've checked off no downloard by mistake which turned out to be a blessing The ver. 2.0.0.2 worked good except on ebay. So user beware, good luck, so now I'm trying opera.

Opera 10/10. Firefox 7/10. IE 4/10. Opera is the best browser. I hope that the people at opera would include some fastest download manager so that we do not need thrid part download manager.

I love opera. Its simple and the best.

I used Firefox. I did not think it won my heart. When I switched to Opera, it did magic. OPERA rules.
Re: Opera 9.20 Build 8767 by gmrapid on 2007-04-06 12:02:17
i used all of them. firefox, ie7, avant, opera.

its a matter of preference and i prefer avant and firefox!

less is more!
