It's slightly more than 2Mb (a little more than twice that), but still smaller, faster and far more full-featured than the competition.
And if you think it has banner ads, you can't have used it much, the ads were removed with version 8.50, released in September last year. Opera has ever since been 100% free.

As someone noted, this is merely a weekly build, not a final version.
The final version is rumored to be out shortly, though.
