PS: I'm asking for downgrade my PSP because I want to play with the ISO games. So, if I have understood I have to downgrade it to the 1.50 and then upgrade with some custom firmware..

Re: PSP Version 3.30 by be_amazed on 2007-03-29 05:17:23
@ OverNight, check whether your psp is a ta-082 or non-ta-082 motherboard. This can be seen when you open your umd tray. Then upgrade to sony's version 303 firmware. Use the downgrader found in psp dash hacks website. Enjoy

PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) System Software version 3.30 Update
Re: PSP Version 3.30 by empty on 2007-03-29 18:24:18
There's a warning on official Japanese PSP page:
CAUTION: This update is only for customers who obtained PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) for Japan (PSP-1000 series). Upon completion of preparing and we will announce update information for the other countries/areas customers via SCE Group Web Site or other channels. For these customers who obtained PSP® in the other countries/areas and please DO NOT update PSP® through this web site. There are no guarantee of proper operation of the other PSP®.

Here are the new features brought by 3.30:
1-- [Disk reading speed] was added to the menu.
2-- Some new feature for RSS channel
3-- In “the VIDEO” folder of the memory stick duo, MPEG-4 AVC (H.264) video Main Profile (AVC CABAC) with file of sizes of 720×480/352×480/480×272 could be played.

Full screen videos for the official firmware! Hurray!

The only time anyone should update to an official Sony firmware is if is explicitly stated in instructions that doing so is needed during an actual downgrade.
This may be the case if the required exploit is unavailable in the current version, but is available in a specific higher version.

Since my (second) PSP was delivered with official firmware 2.01 and the only available downgrading path for that firmware at the time was by going to 2.71 and there being able to go down to 1.50, that was what I did.
Only after making sure  the instructions were legit and I had all the  required toold available though...

After downgrading to 1.50 you will be able to, and really should, either upgrade to a custom firmware (such as Dark_AleX's current "2.10 OE-A'" or the custom 1.6x-series) or install DevHook onto the 1.50-firmware.
DevHook will give you the capability of running several different firmwares from your memorystick whilst leaving the actual firmware at the official 1.50.
I would however recommend going for the custom firmware-path since this now delivers more compatibility, features, less hassle and is probably the most popular method at this time.

Oh, and if you choose to go for the Dark_AleX custom firmwares you will also have the possibility to revert to a clean official 1.50 firmware through a builtin recovery mode (by holding "R" whilst doing a cold boot).
So if you'd change your mind about which method to use, you can always  change later.
As long as you don't upgrade to an official Sony firmware that is.

Good luck...

P.S.
No, this is not a firmware to be used on a PC or a Macintosh.
It is for use with a Sony Playstation Portable ("PSP").
If you don't have one of these excellent machines there is absolutely nothing you can do with this file.
Until you get a PSP that is... ;-)
