QuickTime Lite (QT Lite) is a lightweight version of QuickTime. It will allow you to play QuickTime (.mov .qt) files. This way there is no need to install the offical QuickTime Player. It also supports QuickTime content that is embedded in webpages. The QuickTime plugins include iPIX and QuickTimeVR. The QuickTime Browser plugin supports Internet Explorer, Opera, Mozilla and Netscape. The QuickTime plugins include iPIX and QuickTimeVR. As a bonus, Internet Explorer will play all QuickTime movies that are embedded in a webpage. You do need a media player that is capable of playing QuickTime files.

QT Lite will allow you to :
- Play QuickTime movies that are embedded in webpages.
- Download HD QuickTime trailers.
- Play QuickTime files in Media Player Classic or ZoomPlayer.

This one works a lot better than Quicktime Alternative 1.81 for me. QTA 1.81 failed in 99% of all videos while QT Lite has no difficulties displaying videos. There seems to be one problem though: Open too many trailers and the QT plug in tends to crash both FF 2.0.0.5 and IE6.

Does this work with QuickTime VR panoramas? QuickTime Alternative didn't. As for crashes, QT direct from Apple crashed FF a lot on Vista and I had a crash on XP as well. Earlier versions of QT never did that.
