RyanVM's Windows XP Post-SP2 Update Pack 2.1.0
Posted by Anonymous 1213 Day ago, There are 22 comments, 22835 views
This pack is designed to bring a Windows XP CD with SP2 integrated fully up to date with all of the latest hotfixes released by Microsoft since SP2's release. It accomplishes this task via direct integration, where files on the CD are directly overwritten by the updated files.
This method has numerous advantages over other integration techniques:

- Since the files are being directly overwritten on the CD, there is no period of vulnerability between when the files are copied to the hard drive and the hotfixes are run. This guarantees maximum stability and security.
- All necessary registry entries needed by Windows Update, QFECheck, and Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer are imported during Windows setup, meaning that the integration is transparent to Windows.
- Security Catalogs necessary for Windows File Protection to recognize the updated files as digitally signed are installed, once again ensuring maximum transparency to Windows.
- Since the updated files are being directly overwritten on the CD, this pack has the minimum possible amount of overhead associated with integrating hotfixes in comparison to other methods - both in space used on the CD and in Windows installation time.
- This pack works regardless of whether or not the Windows installation is unattended.

Re: RyanVM's Windows XP Post-SP2 Update Pack 2.1.0 by riggits on 2006-07-15 07:53:10
Still installs the garbage version of WGA. Screw RyanVM for trying to give me spyware.
RE : by rudebwoy on 2006-07-15 08:14:05

no it doesn't install WGA why don't you get your fact straight before posting shite???

That's the trouble with stupid people not finding out the facts before they open their mouths. Ryan and Siginet and the rest of his people put in alot of effort and hours into making these great programs. And they do this for me, you and everyone else without charging a penny. I have been using this for a while now and I, for one, appreciate all their hard work. So if you feel you must have intercourse with someone, I suggest you go f*** yourself!

this is a great update, even if it installs WGA you could still remove with tools like RemoveWGA. Not a problem I think. Great for installing windows and having the latest updates without downloading from the windows update site.

This is very nice and very usefull indeed.

But it works with localized versions?

For instance, if I apply this to a brazilian portuguese XP cd I will create a useless Frankenstein disk?

Thanks in advance.
RE : by rEApEAt on 2006-07-15 12:41:49

"The only versions of Windows that this pack officially supports are English versions of Windows XP Home and Windows XP Professional."

"Officially"? May I have any hope? Or it's better to forget about it?

RE : by rudebwoy on 2006-07-15 22:00:03
No autopatcher is apost install updater, ryan packs are pre install eg you slipstream the pack into a sp2 xp install the updates are integrated so that once windows is installed all the updates are already there. go to http://www.ryanvm.net/msfn/faq.html for full details.

is there anyway to customize and choose what hotfixes you don't want? Ryan's pack contains the KB916281 hotfix that has the ActiveX controls in web pages disabled until the user enables them by clicking on them. I would use it if this hotfix didn't get installed.

I was wondering if this will work for Windows 2000 or if there is a similar pro for win 2000?

Create your own windows cd

Nlite Add-On Maker /RyanVM Integrator compatible  1.2.4.2006 Multilanguage

Include your recent P main programs such as firefox, Diskeeper, Antivirus, Klite, CCleaner, Sysinternal tools pack, latest Winrar, 7zip, Tuneup, ReGet, Nero, Everest Ultima, WMP11, IE7b3, Acrobat reader latest, Java latest, dotnet, latest directx  etc... as addon packs for using ryans integrator/nlite to the latest kb's Gives a great win setup cd/dvd.
Cut/remove win integrated firewall, win tour, msn explorer + all unnneded stuf whitch come with windows, Patch some system files tcpip - uxtheme - etc...
Think the result is not only the saving of time, windows will start up after installation with all programs configurated and reg. save lot of system resources by disable/remove by setup uneeded system services. Nlite Addon Maker http://virtualltek.mgbr.net makes it possible for everyone. The pre definated Program parameters for silence switches work with newer versions cause the installation is almost the same (installshield or others)
Can ignore if predefination is written eg. Diskeeper 7 " /s /v""/qn REBOOT=Suppress" will work the same parameters for Diskeeper.Pro 10.0.608 latest version etc. etc....
It allow everyone to create its own windows setup including the latest driver for them hardware to make Windows unattendend.
