Spybot - Search & Destroy can detect and remove spyware of different kinds from your computer. Spyware is a relatively new kind of threat that common anti-virus applications do not yet cover. If you see new toolbars in your Internet Explorer that you didn't intentionally install, if your browser crashes, or if you browser start page has changed without your knowing, you most probably have spyware. Spybot-S&D can start in two modes: Easy mode for new users who want just the basic features, and Advanced mode for professional users and those who want more control. Spybot is the best..
The wonderful thing is that its free and does almost as best as any other costly anti-spyware out there and has extra very very useful tools.

Spybot is a nice piece of work but don't really like it interferes with your computer work all those popups that are very annoying

...now if someone could just figure out how to unregister the annoying "erase using spybot" shell extension!
