I will never undestand why not to use WebUpdate with a Freeware like this.
Simple! What if you were running it on a PC that you don't have
connected to the network/internet because it keeps reinfecting itself
when it is?
because this program can not be updated with Internet connection using proxy

In SpyBot SD you can setup you Proxy under:
Settings/Settings/Use proxy to connect to update server
I tried it and it works fine.
