@ bero007: The web-page that the article links to DOES include JRE 5.0 Update 8. It appears a little further down the web-page had you happened to scroll far enough. Also, just because www.java.com is posting JRE 5.0 Update 6 as the most recent, does NOT mean they're posting the latest version! Sun's parent servers ARE updated and that is what this article points to. SCROLL and READ the entire web-page that this article links to before posting misleading comments!

Yea, having its site say that update 6 is the most recent, thats very weird, since i have update 7 installed now! So update 8 must apparently be released. :D

the official site is java.sun.com...
and if you go there you see that was a upd 7 and now there is an upd 8...

Before and while installing it is connecting to the internet, but if I stop it by firewall everything seems to be ok. So I'm asking: Why it wants internet connection???

And pls excuse me, but I found that J2SE R.E. update 7 has 18,2 MB and update 8 only 15,7 MB - is it ok?
