System Mechanic is a nice set of tools that will help you with regular maintenance of your system. Tools include disk clean up, fix broken shortcuts, remove duplicate files, securely delete files, clean registry, safe installer, remove invalid installed info, startup manager, Internet privacy (deletes temporary Internet files and history), and Internet speed up which tweaks your registry settings for you so you get faster connection speeds.
umm links are working. you might be having the trouble where u click and it says access denied... this is because it has blocked 9 down from direct downloading. what you should do is go to another site (such as google.com) and THEN type in the download address. it should work.

Wtf is up with iolo, I mean really, that stupid legit process was still running even after I removed the program & restarted. I did finally delete it (and what a sweet deletion it was). Also for people worried about virus's & trojans, just download the file then upload it to JOTTI SCAN (virusscan.jotti.org/) ....well uploading them is time consuming, atleast you know (95%?) sure that it's clean or not.

After the release of SM7, Iolo introduced a internet connectivity check in later SM7 versions when installing to communicate with the main server for registration purposes, much like Norton. This "communication service" actively injects new code in other installed programs (non-related to SM7). Manually disable the ioloDMVSVC.exe service in addition to renaming the ioloHL.dll (the culprit) to an invalid file format. This is not helped by the fact that the ioloDMV service isnt listed in Windows Task Manager....it is actively hidden. In short, it is behaving like malware. Reports are that SM7 does work quite nicely, it's just this ioloHL.dll malware crap that messes things up.

* Freq. random crashes * Devours resources, screws ports & trips up email server, intrnt prgrams & Skype * Cust. Ser = nil - just automd respnses, no refund * Illogical settings, poor GUI * All marketing fluff and not enough attention towards resolving the many common (serious) problems listed in their tech support section of their site. Check it out. This is the only support you'll get. * SOME of the major damages done by unpacking SMP7 onto my decent XPSP2 system: 1. a signfcntly slowed system (sacrificed my XP amenities i.e. visual skin, screensavers, fonts, 32-bit to 16-bit monitor, etc ... just to get the system to move 1/2 as fast as it was b/4 I installed SM Pro!) 2. a maimed and no longer workable email software server (Moz. Thunderbird)(either for sending or receiving mail) - countless important emails from the past 3 days un-downloadable and now no longer on my server. 3. a system that constantly crashes when it attempts to run. 4. worst = lost time(24 hours over the last 3 days) not including time wasted on a useless tech support & lost money ($200 in repairs to get SMP7 out of my system)
Needless suffering can be avoided by staying clear of this product!

W A R N I N G
I had reverse engineered System Mechanic PRO to its Source Code and had found that they stored the names of most of the patch sites, Sl. Nos. and other details in their program (Updated versions). They had also written programs to scan files and even memory to check these filenames, and new versions are also use the facility to send the vital details through the internet. Their minor updates are not to add features, but to prevent latest patches. They also use iterative functions to prevent patches (Occasional Check also). Also, the company visits almost all patch sites and daily updates their programs; and also updates against the working of recent patches, contacts the uploaded sites to delete the patches.
They had also written many functions to check the size of programs. DLL files, and byte changes. So, if the program works correctly, after some time, the s/w find out the changes and then cease to work.
SO USE THE PROGRAM VERY CAUTIOUSLY. The cost of original version is also very very high.
