its weird that this is on the microsoft site yet when i search for updates through windows update it finds nothing????

According to WinBeta.org,
"Microsoft is promising to make the two new Vista fix packs available via Windows Update at a “later date.” The full statement, provided by a Microsoft spokeswoman:
“The two updates will be available on Microsoft’s download center today, and will be available through Windows Update at a later date.”

the 2 new Vista patches from microsoft, for better performance and compatibility, are available for download (genuine check), directly from Microsoft...but not on Windows update...

It brokes my internet connection. After the installation, some windows services cant't start and I can't connect to the internet.

Worked perfectly fine for me (Vista Ultimate x86).

After installing this update, my internet connection was broken. Tried to repair, without success. Uninstalled the update and the connection worked just fine.
I Tried this twice. Beware of this update!

thank u very much fatboys25..my labtop was turned on alone"awoken" after clicking on the sleep Mode on vista.now its stable..sleeping properly :-)).the update fixed everything

-DHCP Client.
-Function Discovery Resource Publication
-IKE and AuthIP IPsec Keying Modules.
-IP Helper.
-IPsec Policy Agent.
-Network List Service.
-Network Location Awareness.
-SSDP Discovery.
-Starwind AE service.
-Windows Update.
-WinHTTP Web Proxy Auto-Discovery Service.(this one can be started).
And maybe others that I had previously disabled.

Don't use this Windows Vista patch (KB938979) if you have used any patch to change your tcpip.sys to increase your maximum incomplete concurrent connection attempts limit per second.
It will break your internet connection!!
