Install this update to fix a known vulnerability in the Kernel Patch Protection on Windows x64 Edition-based computers. This vulnerability could be exploited by an attacker to patch system tables and alter the functionality of the Windows kernel to gain control of the system. After you install this item, you may have to restart your computer.

DO NOT INSTALL THIS PATCH IF YOU USE THE LATEST VERSION OF DAEMON TOOLS!!!!! THE SPTD LAYER (SCSI) PASSTHROUGH DOES NOT LIKE IT!!!! (AT LEAST THAT WAS MY EXPERIENCE)__WINDOWS XP 64-bit EDITION REFUSED TO LOAD THE DEVICE DRIVER! I HAVEN'T TESTED IT WITH 32-bit Windows yet. The other recent patches installed without problems (64-bit).
