With Vista Codec Package installed, you won't need to install any other codec or filter. Many user suggested default settings are implemented. It does not contain a media player. Codec packs usually bring too many conflicts to count.
I like my media player to be able to play everthing not need 2000 players to play each diff. file type.
Install fresh windows with mp11 update real player 10.5 nero7 Ultra quicktime 7.1.3 power dvd 7.2 Nvidia Pure Video Decoder (Requires Compatable VGA)
then defualt file types in media player 11 options.
This with you're most current Bio's,Video and Sound Drivers gives the best possible result.
Also using Divx 6.5 Codec only not complete bundle and Indeo XP Codecs 5.2.

Hey Fatboys25 are you sure that you haven't got my PC because that is exactly what I do and have on my setup,,exactly. And you are right because in reality you only need about 5 codecs to play everything on Media player11, the rest are just get in the way crappy codecs that cause conflicts. I learnt that many years ago.Less is more!!
