of course ;-) The more resident progs you have on the top of the os, the more memory and work you are taxing on the cpu. That is the reason why i dont put antiv resident, no mail av check, no other resident/realtime progs to monitor the os.--- The only thing i do is after i have transferred my datae to cds i do a FULL CLEANUP AT SAFE MODE, restart and go to sleep. please see my previous report. regards/pluto

I understand how you's guys get spyware and viruses , it's called inexperience. Personally i don't use any spyware or antivirus programs now i have more experience. i use AdMuncher for the other annoying stuff. I've got a mate swears by Spy Sweeper and is always pointing out the amount of awards it's won in the past - personally , i had to remove it because it slowed my machine down too much.

I prefer ad ware because its faster but spysweeper is the best its like saying 2 is mroe then 3 spysweeper is the best but its not very efficient or fast

i think there is a slight difference between adware (which is a joker/nuisance script/exe which pops up banners of reminders/advretisements. In the case of spyware it is more malicious, addiing certain particles of scripts into the txt/dll/exe causing the os to be slowed/wracked/hijacked/....
actually i use on windows safe mode: oneclick maitenance (tuneup) adware- full, spybot in the advanced mode . Then i go through the motions of adware full , spybot full (expert mode) and finally i use regsupreme to clean up the invalid files/registry == then restart windows 2000 , then close down for a good night sleep ;-) regards/pluto

I use sypbot.i liked spyware doctor a lot but it too heavy form realtime protection,as is the case with spy sweeper.

I'm sorry but who in their right mind would compare adware and spybot, with spysweeper??? It is a BOOT up resource hog, but once booted Spysweeper uses little resources. If everyone has trouble crking Spysweeper, I would think that would speak for itself. After running spysweeper I run both spybot abd adaware there is never anything. But in reverse order, if spam exists, spysweeper will get rid of it. That being said there is nothing as strong as Trojan Hunter which when it finds something will Kill it DEAD.

You don't require any additional anti-malware softwares... when you have Kaspersky in your system. I tried these anti-malware softwares to test my system (which is having Kaspersky Internet Security 6):
1. Webroot Spy sweeper latest 2. Regrun latest 3. SpySubtract latest 4. Spybot S & D latest 5. Spy Doctor latest
None of them detected any viruses, adwares, spywares etc and they reported that system is clean. This means that, Kaspersky Internet security can provide total protection. Don't waste your time in searching anyother anti-malware programs.
i used any virusscanner but nobody is perfect kaspersky handle e.g. only packed files if they named as it, if the name not *.rar or *.zip then have not a look inside
Well, I think it is the same for Panda IS 2007. u don't neet any other anti-malware program when installed on your PC

I too think Kaspersky is giving good results. But its resource ussage is too much eating memory as well as disk space. All applications getting tooooooo late. Hence looking for another.

Kaspersky SUCKS Its the only AV that make My PC Hangs Out with A messsssss I thought KASPERSKY WAS GOOD BUT what it does to my PC is UNBELIEVEABLE Intel Core2Duo Processor with 3.0 ghz hang BECAUSE THAT S**T AV I Use NOD32 for now And ITS GREAT, BETTER THAN NORTON AND OTHER FOr spy sweeper It's godd but why the scan is sooooooooooooo slow ?????????

Just posting my experience. I am using SpySweeper 5.3 together with Kaspersky AV 6.0. SpySweeper takes significant resources only when booting or updating or scanning. Otherwise it is absolutely low on resources in normal operation. Webroot has made significant improvements in that aspect after v5.2. Spysweeper has a very large and updated spyware database and I usually notice its presence when blocking connection to some sites considered by the program as "dangerous". Otherwise, Kaspersky does most of the cleaning/protection job.
