Thanks for posting this - DTS not working - not sure if anyone else is having this issue. It recognizes the media as DTS. I'm using an X-FI sound card. I've tried changing to headphones (in the program) srs, dd headphones, Digital out 24/96, etc. It plays about 1 second and then goes silent. I've checked the volume control in the program and Windows.
I also have WinDVD7 and it plays the DVDs with DTS without issue. Haven't figured out the issue yet.
1.1 is on the windows cd use its brows option u will see the .net there to install
1.1 hotfix from updates
2.0 from updates
or all can be a custom update if u check updates with you're
web browser at microsoft or windows updates.
U must have all 3.

I've downloaded it from Intervideo Japan... It is only 76 MB. It includes all features and new interface. The design looks more simple and tidy. But I think, better for us to use PowerDVD than this one.

windvd7.0---the wheel of the mouse is no longer controlling the volume as windvd6.
windvd8.0---can't memory the stop point to resume as windvd7 does.

Already I tryed previouspost Windvd 8 76 MB.. But I got Errors. Se Download this one and Again I got 2 errors in this File..
1) Error 1721: There is a problem with this Windows installer package. A program Required for this install to complete could not be run.Contact your Support personal. 2) Error 1603: Fatal Error During Installation

even without 3rd party applications the installed Windvd 8 has about 120 to 130 MB, (you have to consider the common folder too)

Matt_382- Thanks! I sent them an e-mail as well. Strange they didn't catch that in testing. I have done further testing - tried three types of DTS formats - It will handle full bit DTS - only a fraction of DTS movies are FB - The audio configuration has to be set for direct sound. It won't play DTS ES or DTS standard if they are half bit.

I've had more trouble with WinDVD versions 7 & 8. I used to love WinDVD, but have since switched to PowerDVD. For me, it used to be the other way around a couple of years ago; WinDVD used work better than PowerDVD.

Well as I reported earlier in this post the problem seems to be that Win DVD 8 will not run on AMD CPU's at least 32 bit models. I am running 3 machines ranging from a sempron 2400, XP 2800 and a Barton 2500 and nothing will work. My las resort is to use my brothers dual 4800 AMD and i will keep you all posted

Ok the dual 64 bit AMD 4800 worked with no problems what so eve, so I can only conclude that the 32 bit versions will not because they are not SSE 3 compatable.

Windvd doesn't have any errors in my installation. I have windvd and powerdvd installed in comp. in starting up both are the same. the memory usage , however, of windvd when there is no movie playing is quite lower than powerdvd. Both are the same in memory usage when playing movie.
both of them have weaknesses and streght. i like the video enhancement/quality of windvd than with powerdvd. but i like powerdvd when it comes to their sound enhancement.
