These programs all say they can fix a slow PC.
Ok Lets see it fix an Intel celeron 600 with 64 mbs of ram running XP.They are like oil companies,,full of 5hit.
Uninstallers and Reg cleaners,what a load of crap they are.Nothing is ever uninstalled.Where does it get uninstalled to?May be it will fall out of your PC to your desk top.
They just overwrite stuff with 0's usually because in reality there is nothing to uninstall (nothing solid anyway).The Windows registry is designed to expand and the stuff that is left behind by most decent programs when they are deleted is usually ok to leave behind and does not slow down your PC because,,,,,,,,,,, well its usually your Ram or HDD sise that is the cause of slow downs....... PC's are a rip off.
You are downloading  less than air more or less and pay heaps for it( well not here at least).

Robin i sure dont think you have done a lot of registry editing, as an example, install a norton program sometime, uninstall it and then try to install a new one, norton is so stupid it doesn't even know how to uninstall its own crap, as for all these tools well maybe some are just bloated air, I've tried many some do damage, some do nothing, but for example tune up utilites does all it boasts to do, its an excellent tool.  Ck out what a lot of other members wrote about it, all had good things to say, so what you wrote obviously insulted them. Oh I forgot you must really be running that celeron with 64k of ram. I can say one thing you sure do need some more ram, oh yea your computer does too.!!!!!

This very program f.ucked up my computer. I had to format it because of the damage caused. I recommend all of you to don't try this one if you care a little about your expensive machines.

Ummm sorry but I used this program without a hitch... cleaned things up very nicely... See the problem is, is that computer idiots (by your post you MUST be one of them) have no business using these utilities... They CAN mess up your computer if you aren't sure what they are ultimately going to change or clean... I suggest you don't bash a decent program just because YOU don't know how to use it and the other 99% of the people here do... of course this is only MHO.

I wouldn't Crow too hard about who knows more abou the Windows registry.

Only an idiot would install Norton at all in the first place these days because it it is out dated, Bloated and Hopless all round.I looked at it years ago in the Windows 2000 days and compaired it in size to it's competition and have avoided it like the plague ever since.
Any way I said most decent Programs are OK,,,I never said anything about Norton. If you look up Norton in the dictionary it says "see listing under Crap"
Still like I said,,,, none of these programs ever Uninstall anything  they just over write them with "000000's" so nothing is actually ever removed it is just kind of Reformated.
QUESTION:How can one uninstall program work correctly on 98.98SE.ME.200.XP.XP Server.XP Media Cent Edition??? Answer: THEY CAN'T....They are junk programs that do more harm than good.They remove usefull blank keys and entries that haven't even been used yet because they think they are trash.
You want to uninstall something properly??? Then learn how to use the Windows registry and do it yourself otherwise leave it alone.

If you would have read my comment, it said "norton is so stupid it can't even uninstall its own crap" Translation = Norton = CRAP, At least read the comment before you reply, nowhere did I either recommend or even have anything nice to say about norton, I quit using it after a 6 month tryout in 2001. And yes I do agree with you that if people use utilities that they should know how to edit the registry, if you do have knowledge there then the utility program can be a quicker advantage than a manual edit. Just sure as hell don't trust Norton, it will f**k it up regardless.
