Nullsoft Winamp is a fast, flexible, high-fidelity media player for Windows. Winamp supports playback of many audio (MP3, OGG, AAC, WAV, MOD, XM, S3M, IT, MIDI, etc) and video types (AVI,ASF,MPEG,NSV), custom appearances called skins (supporting both classic Winamp 1.x/2.x skins and Winamp 3 freeform skins), audio visualization and audio effect plug-ins (including two industry dominating visualization plug-ins), an advanced media library, Internet radio and TV support, CD ripping, and CD burning.

What's with all the eye candy you babies??? You want the best quality sound and lowest resource usage--use foobar 2000. Even at 100% cpu usage it doesn't stutter, and I'm saying this with a amd 64 3500 + geforce 6800 Ultra. Screw the eye candy. If you're really an audiophile, go with an ADVANCED media player. WinAmp is for those who can't see or hear right.

maybe winamp was great in the old days.. but now its just a cpu (and audio) sucking vampire. Sound quality stinks because it is too much affected by every other process running on system. VAMPIRE.
