I downloaded it and tried.

It works.....but............is:

OBSOLETE this software. Do not download it anymore. It's uneuseful in 2005 when you have WMP10 GRATIS and FAR FAR FAR FAR BETTER!

This Winamp is prehistory compared to many multimedia readers...Exemple NeroMix, WMP10, Real 10 or I-Tune or the other made in Korea (I do not remember the name, but now it's the best)

I remember now: the name is JET AUDIO PLUS by Cowon Corp (Korea).

Compared to this, Winamp Pro is a baby product!
Do not loose your time to download winamp, now a prehistoric multimedia product!

Well, yes gus from Nullsoft know how to make the money from publishing so called "improved" versions of Winamp 5.xx, but there is no other media player which allows to use so many plugins. For me is still the best audio player around. I tried Jetaudio (very nice GUI) but it's so bad that it doesn't allow to use 3rd party plugins like Winamp does. God bless you all...

Winamp plug-ins are 99% uneuseful and program is O B S O L E T E.
Plug-ins for what? For loosing my time in finding theese?
Some plug-in is useful to complete what program cannot do (exemple: DVD encoder), but also with theese plug-in winamp is not like most modern multimedia readers.

Till last year winamp was a good choice, but now there is a lot of programs better, also GRATIS!

So, in my opinion I do not understand users mounting this program. For music? Nonsense, because I-Tune or more Pinnacle MP3 Pro are 200% better!

For playing films? Nonsense, because all the others are better in that!
So, winamp now is a nonsense, and more using windows XP!

I repeat again: a program like JetAudio Plus is 4 time better and a lot more powerful and modern then winamp pro, also finding and mounting all plug-ins you can find in the net!

No. There are minimum 6 or 7 not little, but far better. Apple I-tune for exemple and not only that. Also WMP10 is a lot better than winamp.
In my opinion the best audio player program is Pinnacle Mp3 Pro and the second is I-Tune.
JetAudio is the best I tried for audio+video, but also the new Cyberlink PowerDVD 6 is a splendid tool you cannot compare to Winamp in nothing.

Everyone is argueing about which is better, what about the DRM issues with all of them? Can DRM be disabled in all of them?
For me, it's a cool mp3 player. Period. I don't need to justify what I think looks and sounds good to ME.
