Windows 7 (formerly codenamed Blackcomb and Vienna) is the next release of Microsoft Windows, an operating system produced by Microsoft for use on personal computers, including home and business desktops, laptops, Tablet PCs, and media center PCs. Microsoft stated in 2007 that it is planning Windows 7 development for a three-year time frame starting after the release of its predecessor, Windows Vista, but that the final release date will be determined by product quality.
Unlike its predecessor, Windows 7 is intended to be an incremental upgrade with the goal of being fully compatible with existing device drivers, applications, and hardware. Presentations given by the company in 2008 have focused on multi-touch support, a redesigned Windows Shell with a new taskbar, a home networking system called HomeGroup, and performance improvements. Some applications that have been included with prior releases of Microsoft Windows, most notably Windows Mail (formerly Outlook Express), Windows Movie Maker, and Windows Photo Gallery, are no longer included with the operating system; they are instead offered separately as part of the Windows Live Essentials suite.
Windows 7 - It's the next version of Windows for PCs, and it's the result of working hand-in-hand with our partners and with people who use Windows in the real world every day. We're paying particular attention to the things they're telling us are important to them and will make their PCs work the way they want them to - things like enhanced reliability, responsiveness, and faster boot and shut-down. We're also trying to make their everyday tasks easier, like connecting and syncing devices, browsing the web, and managing a home network.
Of course, we're also working on new capabilities, so people will be able to do things with Windows 7 that were difficult (or perhaps impossible) to do with PCs before. Finally, we're working hard to ensure that Windows 7 will run on any PC and work with any program that works today with Windows Vista, so upgrading from Windows Vista will be easy.

I have installed Build 6801. Now I would like to use the Build 6956. Must i reinstall or can I owerite the files or can i make a update?

This is Build 9656.
Since it is based off 6801, the watermark hasn't changed to reflect the new build. To check, go find the actual system build info and it should show you something like this:
Edit: 6956 (typo)
Edit2: When I mean based off 6801, I mean the Build 6956 files were only put into a install.wim and set as part of the 6801 image so that the new files will be installed upon installing. Thus, this is only a modified image of 6801 with actual 6965 system files.

Ain't just anyone that would know how to do that. Much less the actual imagex mount win7.wim 1 mount and then capture the "installed" applied image and make it work......

However, the ISO image for Windows 7 build 6956 will actually install the new build, and the system installed will be clean, complete with full functionality of Windows 7 (without need to hack), and has the newest boot screen. The only exception is that as the installation media is based on build 6801, thus when booting or starting up the system using the media, the bottom right corner will show version 6801, however, it does not affect the end product.
The Windows 7 build 6956 setup installation ISO image can be used to install Windows 7 build version 6956.0.x86fre.winmain.081122-1150 (6956.winmain.081122-1150) on a physical PC computer by burning the image to a DVD, or simply mount into DVD-ROM drive of a virtual machine powered with VPC, Hyper-V and more to start the install. Most hard disk controller type such as IDE, SATA, SATA2 (SATA II), RAID and SCSI are supported, and also both Intel and AMD CPU
I think that we need to check that info, installing this release a check the features of it.
