just check microsoft home page and windows defender is still Beta2 leh..

i did edit the msi and changed a number in Tables > Dialog > CheckWGA > Attributes to 0

now it skips the validation error but still checks wga and validates it

but now i get an error 2356

...

IT IS STILL A BETA VERSION.

WHEN INSTALLING, LOOK AT THE LICENSE AGREEMENT
THE FIRST THING IS SAYS IS:

"MICROSOFT PRE-RELEASE SOFTWARE LICENSE TERMS

MICROSOFT WINDOWS DEFENDER BETA 2 SOFTWARE"

SO HOW CAN YOU LOT SAY ITS NOT A BETA.

It's not a BETA anymore. So what if they forgot to update the license agreement. Do you see the word BETA anywhere in this picture:

If you look at that same screen in the previous version of Windows Defender (BETA 2), you will notice a difference.

Either way, excellent program.

A friend of mine was using Windows Defender. I've installed Spyware Doctor in his (genuine XP) machine and it catched more than 100 threats, including a keylogger.

People say that Windows Defender is ok. After that, how can I agree?

I tried Paretologic anti-spyware 5.0.2 after a scan with AVG (ewido) and Outpost.

Paretologic found 19 threats !!! The others none. It's the realtime version of XoftSpy.

Windows Defender is soooo slow. Paretologic fullscan took about 2 minutes.

Instead of doing all the above nonsense activities, just do this from RUN/commandline:
C:\WindowsDefender.msi -qr(of course if ur Windows Defender is in C directory). I hope all of you are wise enough to change the command as per ur own requirements.
