Ok sorry folks. Will stop posting the VLK keys. It's just that this key has been out for quite a while and I've seen it on lots of forums. If it's out that long, I wonder why it isn't blacklisted yet.

maybe try the legit fix (a hosts file modification) over at piratebay ?

so far its still working for me and a few people i know
although i know MS is probably aware of it and will eventualy fix it.
but thats ok then we can redirect the new domain ;)
Tested this method with WMP11 installs and IE7 installs, Microsoft Update and Microsoft Downloads Center.

i could explain what to do but im afraid i suffer from excessive laziness sorry
just go find it your self ;)

As regards people who are unable to install IE7 and WMP11, and some other indifvidual programs.

Some MS programs like those, have a separate wga built into them. If you deal with wga by using the registry fix methods, then you should be able to install IE7 and WMP11 etc. without any problem.

However, the patches, like the one that this thread is supposed to be about, do not deal with the wga in individual programs like that. That is why you are able to get into the update site and download and install updates, and do not get the wga notifications messages, but you find that you cannot actually install IE7 and WMP11 etc.

There are two ways to address this.

Wither (a) You can use the registry fix method instead.

Or (b) there are individual fixes for IE7 and WMP11 etc. around on the net.

There is an easier way which only takes a few minutes and it is done by MS themselves, have a look around the MS forums and you might get the right tools to do so courtesy of MS.

So long as you use a valid key it will be considered genuine by MS.

The MS Genuine Advantage Diagnostic Tool will tell you if the Key is valid.

have you got to the point that you can't validate IE7. if so then download the LCC_DLL file open it and double click the add license file. now go ahead and validate IE7. I haven't programed since the old dos days so i don't know what file get's replaced by IE7, but now do the WGA PERM again and it should work for you. I had the same problem on another system of a friend of mine. that's how i did it.

I also have tried your postings, but the same happens when I use the "change your windows xp"... I think the "generate windows xp vlk genuine" is not generating genine keys... or maybe those keys are not for the Win XP Pro Media Center Edition, I think.

All the keys generated don't work, then I cannot proceed with the WGA fix and the Checker.

Again, what to do??

The Brick works Good, activated the password I had, but didn't make it be a genuine password...

I had 30 days left to activated the windows, but now with the brick, the windows has been activated.

windows update can't check your license. you will probably have to reinstall xp over your existing xp to fix it.

i installes all these patches and apply all these methods. now i m able to update from microsoft but now i have a new problem.
"you may be a victim of sotware counterfeiting" this messages appears in my taskbar. please tell me how to get rid of this problem.

you need to be more clear, are you getting an error code? like 0x80004005 ? did you reboot after the patch was installed? what exactly isn't working.
