Please, someone explain to me what all of this "windows live" stuff is about. I went to the microsoft websites... couldn't decipher much other than how great and useful it is supposed to be. I have windows live messenger. I like it. Otherwise... I am ver hesistant to trust Microsoft. Privacy issues???? Problems? c'mon... i know some of you are using pirated versions of windows (32 and 64-bit). Well... are there any problems????? Not to say that I'm doing anything illegal (obviously an indirect admission...) Please let me know about your experiences.

When ever i run WLM desktop beta it tells me that "Starting Windows Live Mail Desktop for the first time requires an online connection. Please connect to the internet and try again. (0x80048883)." after clicking ok another window pops up saying that " Windows Live Mail Desktop Beta could not be started because msmail.dll could not be initialized. Windows Live mail desktop beta may not be installed correctly." Please help me in this issue, i have been trying to install WLM desktop from so many days. I have an always on intenet connection. Thanks

it worked for me, but you might have to log out and relogin with your updated passport account.
I put a real address, the one of our office in SF, no other addresses, saved, logged out, logged out also from hotmail, relogin on hotmail, click on the link, click on agree and TA-DAAAA!!!
Anyway they told me it will be ready in a few days automatically: no more confirmations or clicks.

I use Hotmail and Gmail in Outlook !!! Also has an agenda and contactlist. Why bother ???

I downloded this but it does not let me sign in!!
It says:
"Before you can use this version of windows live mail desktop beta, you need to sign up. If you have already registered for the beta program and are not able to sign in, please try again later"
I sign up on the live ideas website and it just says "thank you" and I dont receive any email or anything... HOW DO I SIGN IN?
Can someone send me an invite to this program or something, help please
