How to install Windows Media Player 11 without WGA-Check:
Simulary as by IE 7 it is possible to install Windows Media Player 11 without WGA-Check.

Copy the Setup-File of the Player in any folder and extract it with a Pack-Software for example 7-Zip or WinRAR. Under the extracted files you found the Windows Media Format 11 Runtime (Wmfdist11.EXE). Dopple click on it and follow the Install Assistend. Now reboot and open after this the folder with the extracted files.
In the next step call the Setup-File Wmp11.EXE, to install the player. A request from WGA will not more shows up. After a new reboot Windows Media Player 11 is ready to run.

Go to add or remove programs and remove it from there and who told you that V10 was better anyways I think this version is better and more like a professional player for professionals I have 60GB of music and i just burn them on Cd when I want to format or I have to another external hard disk save the files on it.

This looks to me like only change in version numbers. Apparently, the version numbering for some files in the previous build were slightly wrong.

The files that are changed are:

1) setup_wm.exe 11.0.5721.5145 -> 11.0.5721.5146
2) wmpappcompat.exe 6.2.0029.0 -> 2.0.0.0
3) LegitLibM.dll 1.5.0530.0 -> 1.5.530.0
4) All files having 6.1.0022.4 were changed to 6.1.22.4
Timestamps of most files have changed. All skins and eula.txt were set to 1 hour earlier and the setup files were set to November 2 '06.

The only file that really changed (content wise) was setup_wm.exe. I did a hex analysis of it, and it looks like only version + minor UI updates. Microsoft hasn't added new antipiracy measures in this build, unless they had a pre-programmed "magic-bit" which was enabled. (which I seriously doubt).

Note that all this is with respect to the october release. Apparently, MS had already released this build back in november. This just appears to be a re-release without any changes.

PS: The core file, ie the actual player (wmplayer.exe), has remained unchanged since the october release. Even its version number remains the same.
