Windows Vista Service Pack 1 (SP1) is an update to Windows Vista that addresses feedback from our customers. In addition to previously released updates, SP1 will contain changes focused on addressing specific reliability, performance, and compatibility issues; supporting new types of hardware; and adding support for several emerging standards. SP1 also will continue to make it easier for IT administrators to deploy and manage Windows Vista. Windows Vista Service Pack 1 Five Language Standalone version can be installed on systems with any of the following language versions: English (US), French, German, Japanese, or Spanish (Traditional).

Wave0 = Only 5 languages JAP-FRE-SPA-ENG-GER

Wave1 = 36 langues (available to download on april 9)

READ THIS, IT FROM MICROSOFT WEB SIDE!!!!!!!!!

Windows Vista SP1 is available in English, French, German, Spanish, and Japanese. Other languages will be made available soon.
Microsoft strongly recommends using Windows Update to download and install Windows Vista SP1 on single PCs:
The download size from Windows Update of Windows Vista SP1 for x86 is 65 MB (compared to 450 MB from the Microsoft Download Center).
The download size from Windows Update of Windows Vista SP1 for x64 is 125 MB (compared to 745 MB from the Microsoft Download Center).
Windows Update will recognize PCs with known problematic drivers and postpone downloading Windows Vista SP1 until the PC has updated drivers or other applicable updates. Using Windows Update will help ensure you have the most trouble-free update experience possible.
Some Windows Vista users may encounter an issue with a small set of hardware devices that may not function properly after updating a Windows Vista PC to Windows Vista SP1. This is an issue with the way the device drivers were re-installed during the Windows Vista SP1 update process, not with the drivers themselves—these drivers worked on Windows Vista RTM and they work on Windows Vista SP1. This problem is typically corrected by simply uninstalling and reinstalling the driver. We are working with the manufacturers of these devices to get the known problematic drivers and their install programs updated, and also on other solutions we can use to ensure a smooth customer experience when updating to Windows Vista SP1 using Windows Update. For new PCs provisioned with Windows Vista SP1, this is not an issue.
If you choose to install Windows Vista SP1 via the standalone installer available on the Microsoft Download Center, Microsoft advises that you first visit Windows Update and install all optional drivers. Read Knowledge Base Articles 948187 and 948343 for more information.
If you have a prior version of the Windows Vista SP1 beta installed, you must uninstall it prior to installing the final version. Use the Control Panel applet "Programs and Features" and select "View installed updates" from the top left of the task pane. Under Windows, look for "Service Pack for Windows (KB936330).

Vista SP1 performance is better on local hard drive. For USB drives, the performance go down. But I'm still happy with it. Only 70MB on Windows Update.

I couldn't download it from windows update either. Checked microsoft webpage and sais that if they detect that one may have problems by downloading the SP1, because of pc drives, etc, then the update won't be available from windows update.

Some notes on using this hack:

1. Any SLIC table can be used with this program, simply by selecting it. No special encoding is present (like in the Paradox crack). All of the SLIC tables we have collected are viable candidates for integration.

2. This crack only applies the SLIC table. It does not apply (or even have) the matching OEM certificates - nor does it install a serial number for Vista. Both of these steps must still be done manually using the command prompt and SLMGR.VBS.
Working fine with SP1:

Seems this more than improves hard disk access. I got a significant boost in gaming performance too (at least 10 frames per second or more in Crysis). I was quite surprised at this (maybe Vista SP1 better supports multi-GPU PCs or something)

The VistaBoot i posted previously didn't work for me.

I found a release by ZWTiSO crew:
ViSTA.SP1.BOOTLOADER.ZWTiSO
http://turl.ca/zwtiso

seems to work for some users who didn't use timestopper before. I didn't applied it yet. Any positive installs yet?

RE:Windows Vista Service Pack 1 Five Language Standalone (Wave0) by haliz on 2008-09-12 21:40:25
ok i have a problem here
i got service pack 1 yesterday, have no idea why, it was just automatically installed.
Well i had a crack for vista, something called timestopper, dont remember what it was named.
But it did something by resetting the trial timer all the time so i never had to activate.
Well enough about that.
I got service pack 1 and now when i boot up my computer i get this message that my product key is allready in use and please purchase a new one and activate and bullshit.
meaning the crack no longer is working.
I have no idea what to do, there is not much i can do on my computer now, only enter a new product key, contact microsoft to solve the problem and i can click on "buy a new product key". Wich starts the internet browser and sends me to the microsoft purchasing sites, meaning i can surf the web, and thats how im on this forum right now.

SO if you get my problem PLEASE let me know on either this forum or email
halvardg@hotmail.com
Thank You.
