If you have windows vista, the sp1 (final version) is in exclusivity on dr.download blog

I downloaded directly from Microsoft's site. Installed and the build is 3264 (English version)

More on this, I have another machine with the previous build of SP3 installed, that one was 3244. So be careful with the fake one spreading on the Net.

No, won't work on x64. x64 XP is based on Windows Server 2003. Any x64 SP3 will probably be released in tandem with a Windows Server 2003 service pack (that's exactly how things were when x64 SP2 was released).

Does anyone have any idea about what would happen if someone were to try to install SP3 on a non-genuine copy of windows XP? I remember lots of people waiting for a crack because of the way SP2 was designed to lock itself down. The patch by ETHO works just fine for the latest windows update/microsoft update sites. I keep wondering if the final release will contain some sort of suprise similar to Vista's reduced functionality mode.

I only know you must change the pidgen.dll with the one from volumen lic winxpiso and use any vol key like from student edition after this no activation required and genuine check is away.

the file version is the same as the 3264 that was out in december? I can't find a real 3300 or 3311 anywhere so far. Anybody else?

my guess is the links to the public sp3 RC2 are getting deleted. don't make sense since v3311 is public. But to find it on your own go to micro soft dot com / downloads. Then in the lower left search field, search "all downloads" category with the search term: xp sp3. When the results page finishes loading, sort the results by dates so the newest show on top. The top to will be the link to get setup to get sp3, and the other is the release notes link.

Versions of Windows XP Service Pack 3 prior to Release Candidate 2 should be removed before attempting to use the registry key. Windows Update will not offer Release Candidate 2 to machines with previous versions of the Windows XP Service Pack 3 beta.

It is recommended that you apply the resulting update package to an activated, genuine copy of Windows XP, in a test environment. As with any pre-release software, it is also recommended that you back up files and settings on your machine before applying this update package.

Download : Windows XP Service Pack 3 Build 3300 RC2

is the direct link to Microsoft. So the version of it is the real trustable RC2 for everybody, which is really so new. Don't bother to look somewhere else, otherwise when the real SP3 comes, others may cause problem installing over RC2 with other builds (if true!).

I can advice all, to use the direct link!

but only with geniue xp you can get the newest by windows update.com

I should have know better with Beta 1 not long in front of RC2. One installed, I found my Windows Client for my wireless failed to
function and Windows Wireless would not start. Restore capibilities after power down was non existant along with the ability to boot to safe mode.
Programs like CCleaner, Eusing Registry Cleaner, AVG, PC Booster and XP Smoker were impossible to run after SP3 install.
Uninstalled through the Microsoft provided uninstaller only to find out that the programers at Microsoft really haven't crossed
all of the "T's" and dotted their "I's"......but what more could we expect. Tomorrow, I will do a total reload but under an SP2 environment.
For my Toshiba Satellite A-55, I will stay clear of SP3 until I know that I know that Microsoft has gotten it right this time.

What no 64 bit system update.
Do they still use the old 32 bit from 1995 windows 95 was the first after 16 bit. Maybe that is ages ago since cpu run 64 bit. When will stop supporting old 32 bit os? Waiting for intel ia64 duo cpu refresh release...
