Forgive me being negative, but when did Microsoft "fix" anything. At best, they patch it up [metaphorically and literally!!!].

My guess is: This is to cripple XP to try to make Vista look a bit better!!

Keep in mind that this is merely a RC and not final, so install at your own risk.
Just what we need huh, another SP that will send Winblows into a Reboot Loop, just like what happened with Vista SP1!! What a joke!!

2nt try! failed due to a lcked file and then it uninstalls. Wasted 2 hrs. At leqast windows still works.

It appears that the current RC2 is the actual thing.
When you go to update a fresh install of XP. that is what updates your operating system directly from their site.

yogioh. first public RC was 3264, with a refresh at 3282. next came 3300 and 3311 is 2nd public RC. I was initially available only through windows updates and only after doing a reg fix to allow it to be seen.

elopes17, the address bar was removed due to the european lawsuit over internet explorer being too integrated into the windows interface.

midnight1, there is a thread on the sp3 forums. google search " sp3 forum"

Analyzers say that with SP3(when final) will get us 10% more speed than the SP2.. wow. The M$ will stop the support on 30 of june, there is a petition to stop that, you can sign on: w w w . s a v e x p . c o m - without the spaces

People unless you have a program to backup your entire system ,like acronis True Image or Ghost or....,do not use beta versions !!!(..and this is a beta version !!!)

I've problem with this program (SP3 build 3311). I used Nlite 1.4.3 to build new CD Windows XP with SP3 (3311) included. After that I use this new CD to install (clear install) my computer. After install XP-SP3 finish, I install all driver for all device ( Chipset 945P+ ICH7R, LAN, VGA, Sound Realteck...) but I can not install driver for sound card. In Device manager have 2 line: " PCI device" and "unknow device".
I use Nlite to rebuild this disk but not OK. I try to use Nlile to rebuild XP with SP3 build 3264, OK, this program is no problem. All device is OK, install drive verygood.
SP3_build_3311 IS ERROR???

I don't know for you dude, but I have integrated nVidia SoundStorm sound cards on ABIT NF7 motherboard. I haven't any problems so far.

SP3 v3311 works fine for me.
