The latest addition to McAfee's line of corporate antivirus solutions, McAfee VirusScan Enterprise 7.0, gives companies strong virus protection with lower maintenance requirements. VirusScan runs only on Windows NT, 2000, 2003, and XP, but it performs double duty, replacing VirusScan 4.51 on desktops and NetShield 4.5 on file servers.
The Achilles' heel in any enterprise's virus protection is end users who disable the software to save time. Build 1830 has been deemed worthy of release after 18 long months of beta testing of a product that many companies showed inital reluctance to install after Microsoft let slip that Service Pack 1 was already in the works at the release of Windows Server 2003 itself.Microsoft is expected to officially announce on Wednesday at 5pm PST that Windows XP Professional 64-bit and Service Pack 1 for Windows Server 2003 have been released to manufacturing to be produced for general release next month WinBeta has learnt.
