Longhorn Winbeta :Three hundred and fifty three days, that's how long its been since the outside world has been given a peek at the state of Windows, Codename Longhorn. On that day, almost a full year ago now, at WinHec 2004 we received the Longhorn build 4074 DVD in our kit; as recently as today I saw someone in our IRC channel seeking a download of that same build. The long drought for a new build of Longhorn is officially over. I proudly present to you, build 5048...

5048 is to be considered a baseline platform, it doesn't have many bells and whistles. Like any builder, the architects at Microsoft have been working on the foundation first. To the casual ... more

Longhorn Apparently, and according to sources at Microsoft, Longhorn has been the much-mentioned codename for the next-generation Windows technology, a Microsoft mole came to us at the weekend with some news of high-level branding discussions that appear to have yielded a name for the new Windows. It could all just be the rankest of speculation, however. Microsoft Windows e-XPedition.

Expedition, geddit? Apparently, marketing suits are happy that the name evokes ideas of the 'e-home' as well as the familiar 'XP' and Media Centre 'Edition', elements of which are all found in Longhorn. It also echoes the 'Where do you want to go today?' slogan, which has become a Microsoft catchphr ... more

Longhorn An almost brand new transforming system that never existed before, this version supports all XP and 2003 clients. This means you can use this software perfectly on every Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 client, doesnt matter if its beta or alpha build. Furthermore, you can rollback your system files to obtain new updates from Windows Update and reinstall it so you don't need to use Batchmod or wait for the author to make new updates. Yet another great update is visual style. I added lots of awesome visual styles for brand new concepts and also make existing ones more perfect (Especially Longhorn Aero and Slate). ... more
